Mario D. Thivierge, 53 of Manchester, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown after a long illness.
Mario was born in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, Canada on February 13, 1964, son of Lucien G. Thivierge of Manchester and the late Rolande (Gagnon) Thivierge. He was raised in Manchester where he lived most of his life. He enjoyed bike riding and hiking, but most of all he loved spending time with his three sons. Mario and his boys especially loved camping together. Mario was generous with his time, always offering to lend a hand. Whether your computer was on the fritz, or you wanted to remodel your kitchen, Mario was always there to help. His altruism extended beyond friends and family to the greater community where Mario spent time volunteering for Christmas in April and, in more recent years, Rebuilding Together. Mario held the MCITP certification and was a Senior Technical Engineer for ScanStore. Most of all, it is Mario's kindness that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
With his father, Mario is survived by three sons, Matthew, Andrew, and Jacob Thivierge, all of Manchester; two sisters and a brother, Sylvie Peowski of Manchester, Nicole Libbey and her husband Arthur of Manchester, Andre Thivierge and his wife Nancy of Holiday, FL, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, November 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Church, corner of Middle Turnpike East and Ludlow Road, Manchester with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery in Manchester. There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Middlesex Hospital Weiss Hospice Unit, c/o Office of Development, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
