Margaret A. "Aunt Peg" Petronis, 99, of Vernon, CT, formerly of Manchester, CT, died Thursday August 9, 2018 at Rockville General Hospital.
Peg was born in Manchester on September 8, 1918, daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Malaik) Petronis, and was a lifelong Manchester resident until moving to Vernon in 2012. Prior to retiring she was employed by the Pioneer Parachute Company for ten years. She enjoyed sewing and seamstress work, doing crossword puzzles, and loved helping others.
Aunt Peg is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barbara Seifert and her husband Henry of Ellington, CT, Andrea Macaione of Seattle, WA, Roger J. Macaione Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL, and Richard Macaione of Essex Junction, VT, seven grandnieces and grandnephews, Paul Seifert, Celeste and Steve Willard, Christina and Roger Morin, Jennifer Engle, David Macaione, Jeffrey Macaione, and Abby Macaione. Besides her parents Peg was predeceased by her brother and sister, Vincent Petronis and Alice Macaione.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 13, at 10:00 AM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with burial to follow in St. Bridget Cemetery in Manchester. There are no visiting hours.
