Margaret (White) Parsons, 92 of East Hartford, wife of the late Edward A. Parsons, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Crestfield Rehabilitation.
Margaret was born in Boston, MA on May 10, 1925, daughter of Hector and Annie (MacDonald) White. She was raised in New Brunswick, Canada and has been a resident of East Hartford since the 1930's. Prior to retiring she had worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Revenue Services for over twenty years.
Margaret was an avid bowler throughout her life, both ten pin and duck pin. She followed New England sports teams and was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan. She was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester.
She is survived by five children, Gary Parsons of Bolton, Clyde Parsons of Manchester, Brian Parsons of South Windsor, Sharon Arnaudo of Odenville, AL, and Tracy Proctor of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Ryder, Dina March, Damian Hall, Ashley Tarnowicz, Kevin Parsons, Kyle Proctor, and Taylor Proctor, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her daughter Linda and three sisters and a brother, Anna White, Dorothy Zeppa, Shirley Zeppa, and Gordon White.
Her funeral is Thursday June 8, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Manchester, 240 Hillstown Road, Manchester. Burial will follow in the Silver Lane Cemetery in East Hartford. Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 7, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester.
