Margaret L. Carlson

Margaret L. (DeCiantis) Carlson, 85 of Manchester beloved wife of the late Richard W. "Dick" Carlson, passed away Sunday November 13, 2016 at Manchester Manor. Margaret was born in Manchester, December 23, 1930, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Chester) DeCiantis and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Manchester High School and earned her Bachelor Degree from Ithaca College and her Master's Degree from UConn. Her teaching career at Manchester High School and Manchester Community College was for more than 45 years. She was a communicant of St. James Church. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Maryann Standley and her husband, Robert of Manchester and Lisa McDonald and her husband, Darren of East Hartford, three grandchildren, Richard Standley, Ryan Standley, Morgan McDonald, a sister-in-law, Anne Boettger of Colchester and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony Deciantis, Alfred DeCiantis and Crescent DeCiantis. Special thanks to all the nurses and aides for all their kind and loving care given to Miss Margaret. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10 am at Watkins Funeral Home 142 East Center Street Manchester, with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery.
