Lucille Vincek

Lucille Caroline Vincek (Blanchard) 93 died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday December 30, 2017 after a brief illness. Lou, the loving wife of the late Yosh Vincek was born on November 14, 1924 and raised in Manchester. Lou graduated from Manchester High School in 1943 and worked at United Technologies in East Hartford until her retirement in 1981.

Lou was an avid sports fan starting her love of sports watching husband Yosh on the gridiron during Manchester's semipro football heydays of the 1940's and 50's. She loved to golf, knit, spend time on the Cape, watch the UCONN Women's basketball team and travel to Alaska to visit family and friends. She also served as a Justice of the Peace in Manchester conducting many happy marriages in her living room. Those who ever had the pleasure to meet Lou knew she was a kind, caring and giving person.

Lou was proceeded in death by her husband Yosh and all her siblings; three sisters Josephine Meeker, Lorraine Cummings, Alice Balch and five brothers Francis, Gerard, George, James and Kenneth Blanchard and her parents Nicholas and Esther Blanchard.

Lou is survived by her son Greg his children Caitlin and Kevin, and her son Darrell and his wife Julie and their children Taylor and Tyra. She leaves behind many special friends and family members with a special thanks to niece and nephew Terry and Lee Bogli and caregiver Sam Gayem for years of constant love and support.

There will be no calling hours and interment will be private. As per Lou's request we will "keep it simple". There will be a gathering for family and friends this summer when we can come together to celebrate Lou's amazing life.
