Our mother, Lucille Irene (Charron) Potamianos, 100, passed away peacefully in Manchester on Monday, September 13, 2021. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island an only child of the late Alfred J. Charron and Irene B. (Marion) Charron on June 15, 1921, she was a graduate of Pawtucket High and Katherine Gibbs College, and worked many years for the American Mathematical Society, Providence, and the National Science Foundation, Washington, DC. Upon starting her family, she moved to Manchester and began her second career teaching typing at St. Bridget's School and the Adult Continuing Ed programs held at Manchester High School. Never one to be idle, Lucille co-owned Custom Photo Lab in East Hartford and worked alongside her spouse at many photography events including proms, Waterford Speedway, and other venues. You could count on her to assist at the yearly St. Bridget Bazaar and later volunteering for over 25 years at Manchester Memorial Hospital; she was your coffee lady! A selfless, independent, and generous woman, kind and good natured with a healthy dose of good humor. Her determined spirit and feisty attitude gave her a remarkable perseverance for lifes challenges. We'll miss you Mom. Lucille leaves three children Charron (Ron) Daigle, Paul (Melissa) Potamianos and David (Christina) Potamianos and two granddaughters Megan and Jennifer. She was a long-time devoted communicant of St. Bridget' s Church. A Calling Hour will be held at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home 400, Main St, Manchester, CT from 9:30 am 10:30 am on Friday, September 17, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Bridgets Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. She will be lovingly laid to rest, privately in Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Bridget's Parish would be most appreciated. Mom, we hope youre eating all the lobster and chocolates that you want.
