Lois M. Barrett

September 18, 1930 — January 1, 2019

Lois Mary Barrett (Massey) of Bolton, CT., passed away peacefully at home on the morning of January 1st 2019 at the age of 88. She leaves her loving daughter, Leslie, and her husband Bruce A. Shanks of Lebanon, CT., her devoted son, Roger G. Barrett Jr. and his wife Debbie of Bolton, CT. Three grandchildren: Roger Barrett III., Michelle L. Barrett, and Jacob A. Shanks and his wife Amanda. Four great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Ariana, Kailin, and Asher Shanks. She also leaves her sister Roberta Smith and her husband Richard, a brother, Clifford Massey Jr., and his wife Bonnie and 12 nieces and nephews. She will join her husband, Roger Sr., her father and mother, Clifford and Martha Massy, her sister Beverly Webb, and sister Jean Dooman at heavens gate. Lois and Roger Barrett Sr. were married for over 60 years and still lived in the home that he built for them in the early 1960s. The entire family of Massey children ( Lois, 3 sisters & brother ) would raise their children around the perimeter of Clifford and Martha's, Fernwood Farm. Thus, providing the 5 Massey siblings with unending love, and the 14 cousins with ongoing shenanigans. Lois and Roger enjoyed driving the back roads of New England...Over and over and over....and over. Together, they could tell anyone, how to get anywhere. Lois was also very instrumental in building the family business (Country Carpenters Inc.) that sustains the family to this day. Lois will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and her kitties Charlie and Chelsea. At Lois's request there will be no calling hours. Private burial will be in Bolton Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Holmes-Watkins funeral home has care of the arrangements.
