Liane S. Cswertek

Liane S. Cswertek, 80, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late John "Hans" Cswertek, died peacefully, Thursday February 19, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. She was born June 2, 1934 in Berlin, Germany, daughter of the late William & Greta (Krey) Stengert, she came to the U.S. as a teenager and had lived in Manchester prior to moving to East Hartford in 1964. Liane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester, the Hartford Saengerbund and had been a supervisor with Aetna Life and Casualty prior to her retirement in 1987. Liane enjoyed playing BUNCO with her friends at Phillips Farm in East Hartford. She is survived by her son Peter Cswertek and his wife Debra of Springfield, MA., two daughters, Elizabeth Wagner and her husband Richard of Palm Harbor, FL and Diane Cycenas of Manchester, her daughter-in-law Sharon Cswertek also of Manchester, eleven grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and her beloved cat "Teddy". She was predeceased by her son Herbert Cswertek. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 24, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in the East Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
