Leonard J. 'L.J.' Sadosky Iii

Leonard J. "L.J." Sadosky III, 45, of Manhattan, NY, formerly of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at home. He was born May 18th, 1972, in Manchester, son of Jo-Ann (Robb) Sadosky of Manchester and Leonard J. Sadosky Jr. of Pomona Park, FL. L.J. was raised in Manchester, attended local schools, and was a graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1990. His academic career includes studying Marketing at Baruch College, earning his PhD. in History at the University of Virginia, his Masters from Miami of Ohio University, and his B.A. in U.S. History from the University of Connecticut. L.J. was an accomplished writer, having penned many speeches and papers about Thomas Jefferson during his career as a Historian. He authored a book entitled Revolutionary Negotiations: Indians, Empires, and Diplomats in the Founding of America and co-authored, along with Peter Onuf, Jeffersonian America. L.J. was formerly employed at Manhattan Institute for the last few years. A lifelong sports fan, L.J. could often be found watching Nascar, Premier League Soccer, the Red Sox, and the Patriots. He was fascinated by astronomy, was an avid science fiction fan, and loved watching his favorite T.V. show, Game of Thrones. In addition to his mother and father, L.J. is survived by his sister Jennifer (Sadosky) O'Neill and her husband Daniel O'Neill of Vernon, his niece Shaylee Pellot and her wife Adina of Southbridge, MA, his maternal grandmother Genevive Robb of Manchester, his two uncles Allan Robb and wife Michele of Manchester, and Harold Robb and wife Rosemary of Mystic, and his aunt Susan Robb of Manchester. L.J. also leaves his cousins Andy Robb and his fianc Nick of San Francisco, CA, and Claire Robb of Los Angeles, CA, and many wonderful friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Samuel "Jack" Robb and his niece Erin O'Neill. Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation and friendship at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester, on Saturday, February 17th, 2018, from 1:00pm-3:00pm, with a service of remembrance to begin at 3:00pm. Burial will be private at East Cemetery in Manchester at a later date.
