Leola Marie Wheeler

Leola Marie (Treece) Wheeler, 93, of Vernon, formerly of Tolland, East Hartford and Brooksville, FL, wife of the late Edward L. Armentrout and Leslie F. Wheeler died peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was born on January 18, 1923 in Sweet Springs, MO daughter of the late Leroy and Nellie Lee (Gregg) Treece. Prior to her retirement Leola was employed as a Secretary for many years with Hamilton Standard. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Rose (Armentrout) Arbo and her husband Robert of Hebron, her son Edward Gary Armentrout of East Hartford and special partner Liz O'Connell, her sister Helen Merrell and husband Raymond of Liberty, MO. She also leaves eight loving grandchildren; Carol Cahill, Susan Bambara, Kimberly Armentrout, Heather Armentrout, Brian Armentrout, Mark Armentrout, Katherine Brown and Jennifer Laraia, seventeen cherished great-grandchildren; Alecia, Ben, Molly, Francesca, Rylie, Cody, Mason, Melina, Brin, Derrick, Violet, Madelyn, Logan, Noah, Aidan, Zoey and Jaxon. She leaves cherished nieces and nephews Roger, Bobby, Blenda, Wayne, Jerry, Sharon, Alan, Jimmy, JoAnn, Terry Lee, Mike, Debbie, and Alan. In addition to her husbands and parents, Leola was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Armentrout, son-in-law Leroy Martineau, three brothers John, Joseph and Francis Treece and two sisters, Rose Nell Treece, Mary Grimes and a niece Joyce Hurd. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. Manchester. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, South Windsor.
