Lenore O. Halloran

Lenore (O'Hara) Halloran, 90, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Halloran, died peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Manchester Manor. She was born on October 15, 1926 in Hartford, CT daughter of the late George and Ellen O'Hara. Lenore's activities in life centered around her family, church and community. She was a longtime member of St. Bridget Church in Manchester where she served on the Parish Council for several years, along with serving on the visitation committee. She held membership in a Small Christian Community group within the parish, and was a charter member of the St. Bridget Rosary Society where she served as President, Vice Pres. and Treasurer. Lenore was a teacher for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, was a charter member of the St. Francis Xavier Mother Circle for twenty years where she served as combined leader for a year. She was the first representative from St. Bridget Church to the Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC), but her greatest love and treasure was serving the church community as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Republican Town Committee where she had served as a District Leader and worked at the polls as an Assistant Registrar and Moderator. Lenore served on the Town of Manchester Commission on Aging and the Manchester Disabilities Commission. She received an award from the Waddell School PTA Executive Board for 29 years of service to the school. Her duties involved being a Room Mother, cafeteria helper, library aid and Facilitator for the Program "Art Goes to School." Lenore is survived by her six children and their spouses: James and Paula Halloran of Charlestown, RI, Robert Halloran of Vernon, Jean (Halloran) and Stephen Pac of Chester, Kathleen (Halloran) and John Boryczki of Manchester, Daniel and Karen Halloran of Meriden and Elizabeth (Halloran) and Edward Roach of Margate, NJ; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Davis) Brancieri, Jeffrey Davis, Emily, Julianne, and Jessica Boryczki, and twins Eileen and Bridget Roach; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann (Halloran) and Michael Davis, and her sister Shirley Cross. The family would like to thank Visiting Nurse & Health Services of CT, the excellent nurses and staff at Manchester Manor, and the Masonicare Hospice team. And a special thank you to Slava, who provided in-home health care for 5 years. She leaves her loved ones with this message: "Do not grieve too much, for I am living, and am still with you!" A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. in Manchester on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 am, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
