Lena Rosella

Lena (Leone) Rosella, 98, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Salvatore R. Rosella, died peacefully, Monday November 10, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. Lena was born September 8, 1916 in Manchester, daughter of the late Salvatore & Concetta (Conti) Leone, she attended local schools and has been a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of St. James Church and member of the Ladies of St. James, Lena was also active in the Manchester Woman's Club, the Manchester Senior Citizens Center, A.A.R.P. # 604 and the Italian Fraternal Society of New Britain. Prior to her retirement, Lena was the Unit Secretary for the Nursing Dept at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Lena is survived by three children, Rita (Rosella) Vendrillo of Amston, Roger S. Rosella and his wife Nancy of Kensington and Patricia Ann (Rosella) Dailey of Manchester, she also leaves seven grandsons, S. James Vendrillo and his wife Shelly, Donald R. Vendrillo and his wife Jenna, Michael Rosella and his wife Dianna, Steven Rosella and his companion Erin Grasso, Kevin Rosella and his wife Lauren, Sean Dailey and Ryan Dailey, nine great grandchildren, Cody Vendrillo, Nicholas Vendrillo, Laura Rosella, Sean Rosella, Chase Vendrillo, Kadyn Rosella, Colin Rosella, and twins, Griffin and Bryne Rosella. Other survivors include her sister Josephine LeClerc of Manchester, her former son-in-law Carl F. Dailey Jr. also of Manchester and numerous nieces and nephews. Lena was predeceased by a sister Mary Santini and three brothers, William J. Leone, Anthony J. Leone Sr. and Thomas Leone. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 15, 2014 at 9:15 AM at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
