Lawrence M. Falco Sr., 89 of Manchester, loving husband for sixty-five years of Theresa (Felice) Falco, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after an extended illness.
Larry was born on Staten Island, NY on July 15, 1928, son of Julius and Matilda (Grasso) Falco, and was raised in New York. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army, and came to Manchester in 1953.
Prior to retiring in 1990, he had been employed at the Spencer Rubber Company, the Iona Manufacturing Company, and the Pillowtex Corporation, all formerly of Manchester. He was also a longtime parishioner of St. James Church in Manchester.
With his wife, Larry is survived by four children, Lawrence M. Falco Jr. and his wife Mary of Manchester, Kathy Falco of Manchester, Jean Dumont and her husband Maurice of Manchester, and Joanne LaRochelle and her husband John of BroadBrook; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Michelle, Danielle, Stacy, James, Jeffrey, and Jason; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Evan, Kacey, and Peyton; a sister and brother, Rose Haraburda of Glastonbury and Peter Falco and his wife Betty of Colchester, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 12, at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours for family and friends are Thursday, Jan. 11, from 5 to 7 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
