Lauren Palmer "Laurie" Thissell died unexpectedly at age 59 on December 29, 2015. Laurie was a care giver to all she knew privately and professionally. It was a lifelong trait. While she happily lived alone, her life was full of beloved connections with family, friends, and godchildren who loved and relied on her. Laurie was an accomplished gardener of vegetables and flowers, and the member of the family that remembered everyone's birthday, wedding anniversaries and special events without fail. Her goal was to be at everyone's graduation. She had a special ability to connect with both the young and the aged. Those who visited her went away with effusive praise for her famous grilled cheese sandwiches and she loved to share her homemade cookies with all. At our every other year family get together, most recently in Maine, Laurie excelled in playing with and delighting the third generation.
Laurie was born on April 18, 1956 to Jane Ann Stiles Thissell and Ralph Sanderson Thissell. She leaves behind her birth father, her adoptive parents Phillip John Stiles and Elise Reichert Stiles, her aunt Sandra Stiles Baldwin, Uncle J. Christopher Reichert (Jacqueline Kaye Brounty) her two sisters, nee Thissell, Lissa Paul Stiles and Cory Thomson MacLean (George Walcott), and three brothers Mark David Stiles (Barbara Weis), Robert Bruce Stiles (Linda Hng) and Peter Alan Stiles (Eun-Young Kim) and two birth brothers Stiles Briggs Thissell and Page Thomas Thissell. She leaves in addition cousins, nieces and nephews Jenny, Becky, Jon, Heather, Sarah, Danny, Christina, Emily, Kate, Ryan, Talita, Phillip, Patrick, Tina, Randy, Leah, Judah, Rachel, Colleen, Michelle, Michael, Alec, Eric, John and Malaya.
What will be missed the most are those eyes that told you she loved you. They will live forever.
