Keren Alden Gilbert

Keren Alden Gilbert of Manchester, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 73. Keren was born July 23, 1941 in Middletown, CT to Shelley Tingle Gilbert and Delsie Appel Gilbert (both deceased). He leaves behind his Aunt, Barbara Nickerson Gilbert, of Chestnut Hill, Mass. as well as his cousins: Nancy Gilbert Green of Rocky Hill, CT, who was his legal guardian; David Scott Gilbert of Rocky Hill, CT; Lois Gilbert Fulton of Windsor Locks, CT; Beverly Gilbert of Richmond, CA; and Barbara Gilbert Kenyon of Hillsborough, NC and their families. Keren lived in a group home "The Woodbridge House" for the mentally disabled in Manchester. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of the home for their love and devotion. The family appreciates the staff of Goodwill in Hartford, where Keren enjoyed his weekdays in activities and recreation. Keren also spent special time on outings with his second cousin Kevin. Keren was a member of First Church of Christ in Wethersfield. Keren had a love for all things relating to cars, guitars, Michael Jackson music, and his collection of dolls and stuffed animals. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Middletown, CT at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
