Kathleen Pearson

March 15, 1918 — September 27, 2014

Kathleen (Moran) Pearson of Manchester, wife of the late John G. Pearson, died Saturday September 27, 2014 at the Crestfield Nursing Home in Manchester, CT.
Kathleen was born in Chappaquin, County Waterford, Ireland on March 15, 1918, daughter of John and Rose (Turley) Moran. The following year they moved back to their family farm in Bracca, Co. West Meath, where she attended school in the village of Ballinahown, right outside of Athlone. She went to England in 1935 where she met and married her husband, John Pearson, in 1942. Kathleen, John, and their two children immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Hartford, CT in close proximity to her sister and her brother, who emigrated from Ireland a few years earlier. The family then moved to Manchester in 1968. Kathleen was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church in Manchester. Prior to retiring, she was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford for twenty years. As much as she loved living in America, her heart belonged to her true home back in Ireland. She went back home as often as possible bringing her children and grandchildren so they could not only see the origins of their family roots, but to carry on those traditions as well.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary P. Soderberg of Douglas, MA, and her son John N. Pearson and his wife, Belinda, of Deland, FL. She leaves two granddaughter's, Jennifer Pearson Allmer and her husband, Chris, of Easton, PA and Sarah Soderberg of Douglas, MA; three grandsons- Michael Soderberg, of Boston, Daniel Soderberg of Douglas, and Matthew M. Soderberg of Brookline, MA; and one great-granddaughter Emma Rose Soderberg of Douglas, MA. She also leaves her sister, Christina (Diane) McDonald and her husband Felix McDonald of Wethersfield; two sister- in-laws, Joanne Moran of Wethersfield and Philomena O'Farrell Moran of Co. West Meath, Ireland, as well as several nieces and nephews in Connecticut and Ireland.
Besides her husband, Kathleen was predeceased by her son, Brian G. Pearson; her son-in-law, Richard J. Soderberg; her four brothers and sister; John, Kieran, Kevin and May Moran, all of Country West Meath, Ireland, and James Moran of Wethersfield, CT.
