Karl R. Link

Karl Robert Link, 82, of Manchester, CT died Tuesday, December 8, 2020, after valiantly battling
illness for most of 2020. He leaves behind his grieving family, who will love and miss him
forever: the love of his life and bride of 59 years, Anna Link, his three daughters: Kathy Link, of
Mansfield Center, CT; Kristin Link, of Manchester, CT; Karen Link of Manchester, CT; his three
grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel, and Katelyn Mathewson, all of Mansfield Center, CT; and his
special buddy and grandpug, Sammy. Karl also leaves behind numerous family and loved ones
who will mourn his loss.
Karl was born and raised in New Britain, CT, attended New Britain High School, and graduated
from UConn School of Pharmacy in 1960. Karl was a well-respected and well-liked pharmacist
for over 50 years. He owned and operated his family drugstore, Bolton Pharmacy, in Bolton, CT
for over 40 years. He was proud to have remained one of the last few independent pharmacies
left in the state in a world of mail order pharmacies and chain pharmacies. Through the years of
being a small town businessman, he forged many close friendships and relationships with the
customers who became like family and stayed in touch even after retirement.
Karl was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He had a wicked sense of humor, he loved to sing, he loved spending time with his family, and
he was an avid gardener. The many flower beds in his yard are a testimony to his passion for
gardening. Karl was a loyal and dedicated UConn basketball fan. He rooted for his alma mater,
and proudly wore his numerous Huskies tee shirts. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts, and will
be loved and missed forever. We would like to thank our many friends, family, and neighbors
who have offered us nothing but love, support, compassion, positive thoughts, and prayers.
There are too many of you to name. It brings us comfort to know that he is no longer suffering
and is now at peace. Rest peacefully, Dad. We love you.
Calling hours for Karl will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home,
400 Main Street, Manchester, CT, from 4-6 pm.
