Judy Ann (Sturtevant) Mathiason, 65 of Vernon, loving wife and best friend for fifty years of Alan T. Mathiason, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
Judy was born in Manchester on September 17, 1951, daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Adams) Sturtevant. She attended local schools, graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1969, and resided in Tolland before moving to Vernon in 1978. Judy has been an employee of Scranton Motors in Vernon since 1985, and she and Alan have enjoyed traveling around the country.
With her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Shirley Zwick of East Hartford and Jean Aspinall of South Windsor, her brother-in-law, Ronald DuCharme in upstate New York, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents Judy was predeceased by a sister, Linda S. DuCharme. Her family would like to give a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at Hartford Hospital for the excellent care and kindness they gave to Judy and her family.
Funeral services and burial in East Cemetery in Manchester will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to acharity of the donor's choice.
