Judy Tatem, 58, of Manchester, beloved wife of Rich Tatem passed away at home on February 14th. Judy was born January 31, 1957 in Worcester, MA daughter of John and Donna Harwood of Worcester, MA. In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by her children; Jessica Tatem of Worcester, MA and Jeremy Tatem of Groton, MA, her brother, Bill Harwood and his wife, Carol of Charlton, MA her niece, Cameron Brazeau and her husband, Jeff of Ware, MA and her nephew, Matt Harwood of Charlton, MA. Judy also leaves her in-laws, Scott and Gisela Tatem of Naples, FL, her sister-in-law, Karen Vassallo of Las Vegas, NV and niece Allyson Hardenbrook, her husband Ryan and their son Jude of Eugene, OR. Family and friends were always the most important thing in Judy's life.
Judy was a 1975 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, 1979 graduate of Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education, and earned her Master degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Hartford in 1988. For most of her career, she was a dedicated preschool teacher. After retiring from her last 16 year position as Director/Teacher at the Rocky Hill Congregational Church Nursery School in 2010, she went on to teach early childhood courses at Manchester Community College to share her passion with future preschool teachers. She was a member of the South United Methodist Church in Manchester. It was Judy's wish for no funeral services or calling hours. The family will be organizing a celebration of life service to allow all who loved her an opportunity to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, Judy suggested that memorial contributions could be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (
