Joyce R. Senkbeil

Joyce Ellen Ramey Senkbeil, 94, of Manchester, wife of the late Gustave A. Senkbeil Jr., passed away at her home on October 10, 2017. She was born April 8, 1923, in Paxton Township, MN, to the late Melbourne C. and Lola E. (Simons) Ramey. Joyce moved to Connecticut in 1951 residing in East Hartford and Bolton before moving to Manchester in 1964. Joyce was employed for many years by Haynes Medical Lab in Manchester, as a Medical Technician and by Robert Bletchman, Attorney as an Administrative Assistant. Joyce was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Temple Chapter #53 South Windsor and The National Huguenot Society. She was a Ms. Senior CT contestant, a member of the Cameo Club of CT and a founding member of the Little Theatre of Manchester. Joyce and Gus spent many hours entertaining at Senior Centers as members of "Just Us 'N Gus" and the "Cameo Club Variety Show". Throughout the years many friends joined them. She was a longtime member of Talcottville Congregational Church. Joyce loved doing crossword puzzles and continued doing them into her 90s. She is survived by her son James P. Loersch and his wife Dorothy Hall of Bolton, her daughter Janette K. McLaughlin and her husband Donald of Bradford, ME, and her step-son G. George Senkbeil and Julie Thurston of Negaunee, MI; her three grandchildren Andrew McLaughlin, Molly McLaughlin and Dundee Benson and her husband Michael Ruggierio; three great-grandchildren Gracious Benson, Draven Ruggierio and Aedyn Ruggierio. Other survivors include her two brothers Lyle Ramey and his wife Linda of MN and Darol Ramey of TX, a sister-in-law Marlene Ramey of MN, several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by a son Jay M. Loersch, a brother Norman Ramey and a sister-in-law Joan Ramey. A memorial service will be held at Talcottville Congregational Church, 10 Elm Hill Road, Vernon on November 11, 2017 at 11:00 am.
