Joseph R. Kroll, 68, of Manchester, loving partner of over 20 years to Marsha Batt of Manchester, formerly of Vernon, died on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Joe was born on February 29, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA son of the late Charles and Leolla Kroll. He was raised in Pennsylvania, attended local school and was a 1966 graduate of William Tennent High School. Joe was a veteran of the US Navy serving his country aboard a submarine during the Vietnam War. He earned his Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science Technology from Three Rivers Community College. Joe was employed as an Applications Developer for Optum Technologies a division of United Healthcare for over 15 years. While raising his children, he was a former Little League Coach and Boy Scout Leader in the New London area. He loved Christmas, enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid gardener. In addition to Marsha, Joe is survived by his son and grandson Derek Kroll and Maddox Joseph Kroll both of Manchester, his daughter Rebecca Kroll of Hartford, his sisters; Karen Doyle and her husband Joe of Langhorne, PA and Anita Andersen and her husband Greg of Bensalem, PA, his brother Charles Kroll and his wife Roberta of Doylestown, PA, several nieces, nephews and their families and his former wife Marjorie Kroll of Oakdale, CT. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 9:30 am- 11:00 am.
