Joseph M. Doyon

Joseph M. Doyon, 79 of Manchester, beloved husband of the late Margaret A. (Sapita) "Peggy" Doyon passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Joseph was born in Augusta ME January 27, 1937, son of the late Omer and Germaine (Beland) Doyon and had resided in Manchester for most of his life. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 and honorably discharged in1961. He worked as a machinist for more than 20 years for MTM Corp. in Andover and previously for more than 15 years at the former Purdy Corp. now known as the Timken Company in Manchester. He was a parishioner of St. James Church in Manchester. Joseph loved riding his motorcycle whenever he could even into early winter. Enjoyed going out dirt bike riding with us kids, many trips skiing, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was also a life time member of Rockville Fish and Game Club where he would take us trap and skeet shooting all the way until he was 78. He was a pretty good shot! He was always busy doing something. Joseph is survived by his loving family, two sons, Ronald J. Doyon and his wife, Colleen of Stillwater, NY, Michael D. Doyon and Janet Coffin of Bolton, five grandchildren, Robert, Josh, Britneah, Christopher, Megan, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Thurston, Rachael Shive, several nieces and nephews and their families. Besides his parents and wife, Joseph was predeceased by a grandson, Michael. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at 12 pm at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow with military honors in St. James Cemetery Manchester. Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home.
