Obituary

Joseph “Joey” Jon Blair, of Marlborough, CT, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the age of 29.

Born on March 30, 1997, in Manchester, CT, Joey was the beloved son of Deborah A. Willis and Mark J. Blair.

Joey was raised in Andover, CT, where he attended Andover Elementary School and RHAM Middle and High School. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a special affection for animals. Throughout his childhood, he had dogs, chickens, rabbits, turtles, geckos, and even a cow.

No one loved him more fiercely than his mother. They shared a lot of laughs and a lot of tears. Through it all, she was his constant source of encouragement, his biggest supporter, and his most faithful cheerleader. Her love for him was unconditional and boundless, and she stood by him through every joy and challenge. His loss leaves an emptiness in her heart and a void that can never be filled.

Joey shared a lifelong bond with his brother, Jeremy. As children, they were inseparable, spending countless hours riding bikes, dirt bikes and quads, swimming, exploring outdoors, and creating memories that would stay with them for a lifetime. Like many brothers, as they grew older, they may not have seen each other or talked every day, but the love between them never faded. Through the years they remained an important part of one another's lives, their connection remained rooted through shared experiences, family, and a lifetime of memories and love. The bond between them was one that could never be broken, and the loss of Joey leaves an emptiness that will be deeply felt by Jeremy and all who knew how much the two brothers meant to one another.

Joey treasured the time he spent with his grandparents, Jack and Carol. Countless Sunday adventures with them and his brother often included rides down to the shore, visits to see family, trips to the Dinosaur Park, and always stopping for hot dogs or ice cream. He shared many happy times and created countless cherished memories with his Grandma Bev, his brother, and all of his cousins, from outdoor adventures and swimming on warm summer days to sleepovers filled with late nights, laughter, and fun.

Joey also enjoyed gaming and spending time with friends, whether online or in person. He loved being behind the wheel and recently achieved a personal goal by earning his CDL license. He had a need for speed and especially enjoyed his Subaru WRX.

Joey was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was always willing to help a friend in need and had a quick wit that could bring a smile to anyone's face. His sense of humor, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Joey leaves behind his beloved son, Elijah, with whom he shared a special and unbreakable bond. He treasured every moment spent playing, laughing, and making memories with him. He also leaves behind his infant daughter, Megan, whom he loved deeply and held close to his heart. His love for both of his children was one of the greatest joys of his life.

In addition to his children and parents, Joey leaves behind his brother, Jeremy Blair of Columbia, CT; Steve Heal, his mother's longtime companion, who was an important presence in Joey's life and shared a special bond with him; his loyal canine companion, Bella; aunts and uncles; and many loving cousins, relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, John (“Jack”) and Carol Willis, and Terry and Beverly Blair.

Joey will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, humor, loyalty, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and animals. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain in our hearts forever.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, CT.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Church of St Maurice, 32 Hebron Rd, Bolton, CT. Burial will follow at Townsend Cemetery, Andover, CT.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Joey, a custodial account has been established for Elijah Blair. Support in any form for both children is deeply appreciated. Checks can be mailed to Manchester Municipal Federal Credit Union, 479 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040.
