John Charles Yobst

June 13, 1969 — January 23, 2025

John Yobst, affectionately known as John to his loved ones, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 on January 23, 2025, while on vacation with his wife Amy, in the serene setting of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Born on June 13, 1969, in Hartford, Connecticut, John's early years were filled with the love and support of his late parents, Clyde and Sally Yobst.
John's pursuit of excellence led him to a distinguished career in sports medicine. His dedication was evident through the completion of 1200 clinical hours across various colleges, universities, and physical therapy clinics. Beyond his formal education, John's passion for health and fitness drove him to acquire numerous certifications in fitness and nutrition. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the owner and founder of Lean Physique, LLC, a personal training studio, and Team Lean, a bodybuilding competition team. Through these ventures, John inspired countless individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle and achieve their personal best.
A man of various interests, John found joy in working out, staying fit, and fishing. His love for nature was as vast as the outdoors he explored. Cherished moments were spent with his beloved wife, Amy, on tropical vacations and leisurely drives that reflected the couple's shared sense of adventure and love for the world's beauty.
John's spirit was one of joy and generosity, and he took every opportunity to be with his family. His sister, Sheri Goggin, and her husband, Bill, were dear to him, as were his niece Sarah Goggin and her husband Sean; his nephews, Dylan VanBramer and his wife Stephanie, Kyle VanBramer, Luke Palmer, and Benjamin Palmer; and his niece Leah Goggin. The laughter and love that filled the room when they gathered are memories that will be treasured forever.
Known for his loving nature, John was the heart of his family. His humor brought smiles to many faces, and his spirited personality was infectious to all who knew him. John's presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
John's absence will be deeply felt by his family and friends. His wife, Amy, will cherish the memories of their shared dreams and adventures. His nieces and nephews will remember their uncle as a figure of inspiration and fun, a role model who encouraged them to live life to the fullest. John's friends, clients, and colleagues will miss his guidance, friendship, and unwavering support.
As we say goodbye to John, we remember a life lived with passion, commitment, and love. His impact on the world of health and fitness will be felt for generations to come, and his memory will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him. John's journey on this earth may have ended, but the stories of his life and the imprints he left on our hearts will endure.
