John J. Martin, 58, of Manchester, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at home. John was born on December 10, 1959 in Hartford one of three children of Sandra (Canassa) Martin and the late Loomis J. Martin. He was raised in Manchester attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. John was the owner and president of Yardmasters Lawn Care Services of Manchester for the past twenty- five years. John loved boating and spending time on the water with friends and family. He also loved animals and always fed the wildlife and deer that would often visit him at his home. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his brother Jim Martin, his sister Cory MartinHock and Jose Lopez, his nephew Tim Hock, other family members; Carol Matte and Kathy Burke and many wonderful friends and customers. In addition to his father John was predeceased by his aunt Corliss O Grey. Friends and family are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5-7 pm with a prayer service to begin at 7 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 20 Batterson Park Road, 3rd floor, Farmington, CT 06032.
