John J. Babineau, 92, longtime resident of Manchester, loving husband of the late Margaret Inez (Bonham) Babineau, died Monday, January 15, 2017 at Hartford Hospital.
John was born on January 10, 1926 in New Brunswick, Canada, son of Amy and Emma (Gudreau) Babineau. He came to Manchester in 1947 and owned and operated John's Barber Shop on Green Road in Manchester from 1955 until his retirement in the late 1990's. John was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church.
He is survived by three children, Claudette B. Munson and her husband Ted of Avon, Patricia C. Lewis of Manchester, and Donald L. Babineau and his wife Helen of Manchester; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; his brother, Arthur Babineau of Brewer, ME, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides his wife John was predeceased by two sons, John Dennis Babineau and Wayne M. Babineau, a sister, and two brothers.
A prayer service and burial in St. James Cemetery in Manchester will be private. There are no calling hours.
