Joan C. Mcveigh

July 16, 1930 — June 15, 2021

Joan C. McVeigh, 90, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday (June 15, 2021) at the Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in the presence of her loving family. She was born on July 16,1930 in Schenectady, NY. She was a long-time resident of Manchester and a communicant of St. James Church. Joan devoted her whole life to her family, raising her three daughters whom she cherished and creating a stable, loving home for them. She was predeceased by her husband, James, whom she was married to for 59 years before his death in 2011. She was also predeceased by her brother Terrence and her brother Richard. Joan had a pleasant and cheerful disposition and loved to engage with others in lively conversation. She had a natural talent for interior design and loved to decorate her own home, her friends' homes and her daughters homes. She was able to transform a plain space into a warm and inviting environment with her personal touches and derived much pleasure from doing so. She also had a strong faith in God which she passed on to her children and grandchildren by living her life as an example to them. Her great grandchildren were one of her greatest blessings in her later years, and her face would light up with joy at the sight of them. She will be sorely missed. Joan is survived by her three daughters, Marlyn Fiori and her husband Stephen, Sharon Masse and her husband Ronald, Melissa Stone and her husband David, a sister Mary and husband Richard , a sister-in-law Marianne; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank the Companions and Homemakers staff and the staff of the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, who provided kind, compassionate care to Joan during the last few years. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Manchester Area Conference of Churches, P.O.
