Jeanne Matthew

At the request of the family services have been postponed until a later date. Jeanne Blanche Matthew, 84, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020, in her home. She was born February 4, 1936, in Quincy Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Quincy High School class of 1954. She married Alexander Matthew in 1956. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling to Boston, painting, collecting antiques, reading novels, and making people smile. Jeannes talents were many, she was an accomplished gardener, seamstress, phenomenal cook, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and community volunteer. Jeanne also enjoyed being a member of Second Congregational Church in Manchester, CT, where she participated in many community events. Proceeded in death by her parents William and Blanche Blaney, brothers William and Robert Blaney, her daughter Gail Matthew Driver, her son Daniel Matthew, her grandson Jason Matthew, and her grandson Walter Driver III. She is survived by her husband Alexander Matthew of 64 years, her sons James and Douglas Matthew, and numerous, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2020 at East Cemetery, 220 E. Center St, Manchester, CT.
