Jean M. (Carlson) Johnson, 87, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late, Raymond "Tiny" Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on October 22, 1926 in Manchester daughter of the late Hurbert and Ethel (Scott) Carlson. Jean was raised in Manchester, graduated Manchester High School, Class of 1944 and had been a lifelong resident. She was formerly employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and Colt Firearms. More recently she and her husband Ray owned and operated the J & J Bait Shop in Manchester. Jean was a longtime Communicant of St. James Church in Manchester where she was a member of the women's guild and church prayer line. She was a member of the Pocahontas Women's Club and was a former Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful cook who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, John Johnson and his wife, Lisa of Manchester, her three daughters, Linnea Klim of Manchester, Holly Yeske and her husband, Mark of Bristol and Heather Poulin and her husband, Ron of Ellington, nine grandchildren; Robby Borello, Christine Toce and her husband, Joe, Eric Drury and his wife, Monica, Jason Johnson and his fianc Heather Sullivan, Becky Borello and her partner, Elaine, Justin Klim, Jessica Poulin, Raymond Poulin and Jennifer Poulin and her five great-grandchildren; Kaylee, Lyla, Nicholas, Ellery Kathleen and Amanda. Jean also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Anthony Pagliughi of Glastonbury, her son-in-law, Bob Borello, several nieces and nephews, her godson, Marty Reale and former son-in-law, Paul Klim and many wonderful friends. In addition to her husband and parents Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Borello. Jean's family would like to the thank the doctor's and staff of Manchester Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for their loving and compassionate care along with the Chaplain, Father Kevin from St Francis Hospital and to Maryann Pellitier for bringing Communion to Jean every Sunday. Calling hours will be on Friday, July 18th from 6-8 pm at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10 am at St. James Church, 896 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
