James R. Todd

James Richards Todd ("Jim Todd") of Somers, CT, devoted husband of Jo Ann Spruell Todd, died peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015, after living a life full of hard work and service to others. Born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on June 16, 1937, he was the oldest of five sons born to AJ and Polly Todd. After moving to Connecticut, Jim met Mary Frances Pozzetti to whom he was married to for 48 happy years until her death in 2006. Jim and Fran had two daughters, Cheryl Todd Craig of Columbia, TN and Sharon T. (Chris) Costa of Manchester and an adopted son, Karl J. Todd. Jim leaves behind four grandchildren; Will and Chelsea Craig of Columbia, TN and Abby and James Costa of Manchester and four great grandchildren, Kaylee, Bryson, Asa and Jaycee. He leaves behind his brothers Jerry (Gail) Todd of Murfreesboro, TN; Steve Todd of Smyrna, TN and was predeceased by his brothers Wayne (Holly) Todd and Kenneth (Ronda) Todd. Jim was also predeceased by his second wife, Rebecca (Brewer) Todd.
Jim worked as a lineman and retired from Northeast Utilities. After retiring, Jim enjoyed working many years for Tri State Turf of Somers.

The heart of Jim was his spiritual life and his service to the Lord's Church where he served as a deacon and elder for the Manchester Church of Christ worshipping there until his death. Jim was well known for his love of flowers and gardening sharing his talents with family and friends.
A time of visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, November 5 at 5 p.m. to be followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the Manchester Church of Christ , 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester CT.
