James T. Patulak, 69 of Orlando, Florida formerly of Manchester CT., passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Florida. He was born in Hartford, July 12, 1948 son of the late Michael and Stella (Truken) Patulak. He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and earned his Master's degree in Education. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, also serving in the Army Reserves. For over 20 years he was employed as the Associate Athletic Director at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and previously at the Coast Guard Academy in New London. Jim was an avid fan of New England sports including his beloved Red Sox even after entering into retirement and relocating to Florida in 2010. He enjoyed days by the pool and sipping his "frosty" Miller Lites until it was time to go out and enjoy his favorite meal at the Outback Steak House. Jim is survived by his children, two daughters, Lori Koch and her husband, John of Coventry, Michelle Moreau and her husband, Jack of Wethersfield, two sons, Timothy Patulak and his wife, Andrea of Orlando, Josh Patulak of Amherst, MA, a brother, Michael Patulak and his wife, Carol of Glastonbury, grandchildren James and Adelaide Patulak, Danielle and Brady Koch, and Dylan Arcelli, nephews Michael and Tully Patulak, and two stepdaughters Tracey and Audrey Arcelli. Jim also leaves behind numerous friends who will miss his humor and generosity. Memorial calling hours will be Tuesday October 3rd, from 5-7pm at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 10:30am at Holmes Funeral Home to process to the East Cemetery, Veterans Section J-1, Autumn Street entrance, in Manchester for a graveside burial service with military honors Wed.
