James Leroy Bunker, 84, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born March 13, 1941, in Warrensburg, New York, he was the son of the late George and Marie (Combs) Bunker.
James moved to Chicago, where he attended DeVry Technical Institute. He later relocated to Connecticut and worked for many years at WPOP Radio and also as a diagnostic engineer, overseeing automotive computer systems utilizing Allen Test Products. Known for his strong work ethic and keen intelligence, James took pride in his profession and remained deeply committed to his family throughout his life.
He enjoyed being superintendent of Sunday School program at Community Baptist Church, gardening but, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
James is survived by his children and their spouses, Laura Reichelt and her husband Jon, James Bunker and his wife Lisa, Rev. Dr. Rick Bunker and his wife Kelly, and Nicole Rodrigue and her husband Robert; his grandchildren, Ashley, James, Zachary, Jesse, Kimberly, Emily, Matthew, Deborah, Andrew, and Julianna; 15 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
