Jacqueline L. 'Jackie' Moores

Jacqueline Louise (Young) Moores, 93, of Manchester, formerly of Bolton, beloved wife of the late Gordon P. Moores, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Louise Young. Prior to retiring, she worked many years actively employed in a career revolving around young children; from being a kindergarten teacher in the Tolland school district, to a secretary at the Manchester Children's Museum, to working as the Children's Librarian at Manchester's Whiton Memorial Library. Jacqueline was a long standing member of the Bolton Congregational Church as well as a member, in her later years, of the South United Methodist Church in Manchester.

She is survived by her two children; Robert Spencer of New Albany, IN and Lou (Spencer) Metzger and her husband, Mark Metzger of Chicago, IL. She's also survived by her four loving grandsons, Peter Metzger and his wife, Taylor; Michael Metzger and his fiancee, Rachel Rue; Cole Metzger and his wife, Jennifer; and Andrew Spencer and his wife, Elizabeth.

Private burial will be at East Cemetery, Manchester. There will be no calling hours. Watkins Funeral Home, Manchester, has care of the arrangements.
