Ivars G. Vitols

Ivars "George" Vitols, 78, of Farmington passed away peacefully on Saturday June 10th, 2017 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He was born on May 28th 1939 in Riga, Latvia. After graduating from Hartford High School in 1959, he served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. George then went on to study business administration at Franklin Pierce University, graduating in 1966. He utilized his business knowledge at Middletown Toyota, where he worked for 22 years up until his retirement.
He was a beloved member of the American Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as the treasurer up until the time of his passing. An avid New England sports fanatic, he thoroughly enjoyed following his favorite teams. In his retirement he traveled to Florida often, even taking his favorite cat(s) with him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Laila Vitols, and his two children; Christopher Vitols, of Farmington, CT; and Kevin Vitols, of Orange, MA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Kelsey, Cody, and Nicole.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the American Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church 21 Garden St. corner of Winter St. Manchester, CT from 10am to 11am on Wednesday June 14th.
