Helen M. Vogel

Helen (McGugan) Vogel, 85, of Vernon, beloved wife of 61 years of Walter P. Vogel Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 while wintering in Florida. She was born on September 16, 1931 in Hartford daughter of the late James and Elsie McGugan. Helen was a longtime member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester. She was an avid reader and game player. She loved her winters at the beach in Florida, summers at their lake house in New Hampshire, and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband Walter, she leaves her three daughters and sons-in-law; Linda and Walter Stone of Kernersville, NC, Debra and Ernest Avery of Windham, CT and Donna and Donald Hayduk of Cleveland, GA, her four special grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Jennifer Bassiouni, Kristen Crider and her husband Skipp and their children Kaylee and Kendyl, Taylor Hayduk and his fianc Chas Choran, and Shane Hayduk, her brother Raymond McGugan and his wife Faith of Manchester, CT and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main St. Manchester on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. with a service to begin at 11a.m. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to South United Methodist Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Alzheimer's Association, and Arthritis Foundation.
