Helen (Simpson) Mather, 92, of South Windsor and formerly of Manchester and Cape Cod, beloved wife of the late Theodore M. Mather Sr., died peacefully, Saturday September 12, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. Helen was born December 28, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY., daughter of the late George J. & Anna Jane (Trouton) Simpson, she grew up in Manchester attending local schools and was a Graduate of Manchester High School. Helen also attended the Morse School of Business and became a Bookkeeper. She had worked for many years with the Ney Co. and later retired from the W.G. Glenny Co. Helen was an avid reader, she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Jane M. Bourque and her husband Thomas of South Windsor, her son Theodore M. Mather Jr. and his wife Nancylynn of South Dennis, MA., six grandchildren, Jennifer Nessen and her husband Jeffrey, Hilary Griffin and her husband James all of California, Elissa Sanford and her husband Joshua, Virginia DiSarcina and her husband Paul all of Massachusetts, Jeffrey Bourque and his wife Amy of New Hampshire, Meredith Budai and her husband Seth of Maryland, thirteen great grandchildren, Nicole, Ashlynn, Kaelie, Kendall, Colin, Carter, Amelia, Oliver, Matthew, Sarah, William, Jack and Andrew. Funeral services will be held Monday September 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Visitation will also be Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be private in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT. 06067-3045.
