Hazel K. Akeley

Hazel (Kneeland) Akeley, age 93, formerly of South Windsor, wife of the late Paul Akeley, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at a local convalescent home in Manchester.
Hazel was born April 14, 1921 in Monticello, ME, daughter of the late Calvin and Inez (Folsom) Kneeland. She was raised in Maine and moved to Manchester in 1950. Prior to retiring she was employed for twenty-five years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. Hazel returned to Maine in 1980, where she was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church in Charleston, and returned to South Windsor in 2010.
She is survived by a son, Eugene Akeley and his wife Gloria of East Hartford; two grandchildren, Mark Akeley of East Windsor and Kristen Sequiera of Manchester; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Zachery and Alexis; her brother, Philip Kneeland of Corinth, ME, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 PM in the Corinthian Cemetery on Exeter Road in Corinth, ME. There are no calling hours.
