Harold J. Moore

Harold J. Moore, 84, of Manchester died peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born August 28, 1933 in Manchester son of the late William and Annie (Loney) Moore. He had been a lifelong resident of Manchester until moving to Vernon Manor in June of 2017. Harold was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany in 1954. Prior to his retirement in 1997, Harold was the Permittee and Bartender for 37 years at the British-American Club in Manchester. Harold was a member of the American Legion and he thoroughly enjoyed watching all varieties of sports especially the UConn Women's Basketball Team. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and their families, but closest to Harold's, and our hearts, was his caregiver Christina, and her two children. In addition to his parents Harold was predeceased by his four siblings; Earl Moore, Thomas Moore, Grace (Moore) Romano and Lillian (Moore) Pohl. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 am in (Section G. Westminster) of East Cemetery, 240 East Center St. Manchester.
