Halina 'Helen' Bednarek

Halina Helen Bednarek, 92 of Manchester wife of the late Stanley Bednarek and mother of the late Edmond Bednarek passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Helen was born in her homeland of the Ukraine on October 19, 1923 daughter of Zachari and Kuline (Muchajlenko) Makrenko and emigrated to the United States in 1950 settling in Manchester. She was a longtime communicant of St. Bridget Church. Helen is survived by her caretaker, Dianne and her family and close friends, Stanley Lesinski and Judy Olsen. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by a sister and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 4 , 2016 at 10 am at St. Bridget Church 80 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
