Gregory Mathew Mlodzinski of Manchester, Connecticut passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Saint Francis Hospital on February 18th. As part of the class of '65, Greg graduated from the electrical shop at Cheney Tech High school. Very soon after, he was drafted to serve in Vietnam. He bravely did so as a solider in the Army's 1st Infantry Division - "The Big Red One". After returning home, he immediately began working in the electrical trade. Over decades of work, he became a business owner and truly enjoyed being on the job site.
As an avid boater, Greg spent long summer days out on the water with his family. He loved basking in the sun and always letting his sons take the helm. He enjoyed all aspects of being "down at the boat". There was nothing like a boat ride with Grampy, his silent confidence made every ride so enjoyable.
In his unique way, Greg was a straight-forward, tell it like it is guy. If you had the pleasure of having a few words with him, he most likely would have been wearing a baseball cap and jeans. He enjoyed his coffee black with a "pinkie" (sweet'n low). There was nothing he couldn't fix with a roll of electrical tape and no meal was complete without a full sheet of paper towel.
Greg is survived by his loving wife Donna (Robb) Mlodzinski, son Gregory and Katherine Mlodzinski of Tolland, son Donald and Laura Mlodzinski of Tolland as well as his grandchildren: Laura, Alison, Jack and Seth, and brother Michael Mlodzinski of Vernon.
He is predeceased by his grandson Adam.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Greg at Assumption Church in Manchester, CT. on Tuesday, February 25th at 10 am - please arrive by 9:40 am. Following the Mass, there will be a Committal Service at St. James Cemetery, with military honors.
The funeral mass and committal will complete the honoring of his life that day. Further celebrations of his life will be shared at a later date. To leave an online condolence please visit
