Gordon T. Filbig

Gordon T. Filbig, 93, a resident of Westborough, MA, formerly of Vernon, husband of the late Shirley (Trude) Filbig, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Gordon was born December 7, 1921 in Manchester son of the late Theodore and Annie (Reid) Filbig and had resided in Vernon since 1959 until moving to Westborough in 2005. He graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1939. Gordon worked at the Hartford Insurance Company for 35 years retiring as an administrative clerk. He was a former member of the First Congregational of Vernon. Gordon is survived by a son, Robert Filbig and his wife, Tammy of East Hampton, a daughter, Carol Gibson and her husband, Robert of Mendon, MA, four grandchildren, Kevin Filbig, Brian Filbig, Kyle Filbig, Brian Gibson and several nephews and nieces including Marge Morris. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by three sisters, Anna Filbig, Beulah Helm and Elizabeth Tycz. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at 11 am at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester with a calling hour Saturday, from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
