Gloria L. Coro, 87, of Vernon formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of Jerry N. Coro passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 after a brief illness. Gloria was born in Rockville, December 5, 1928, daughter of the late William and Leila (Zwicker) Griffin and had lived in Vernon for the past five years, previously residing in Manchester for more than fifty years. She was an active and longtime member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and a member of the church choir. After retiring from Travelers 30 years ago, she pursued her passion for travel and travelled the world with her husband and friends. Her greatest love was cooking for which her family and friends referred to her as the family's "Julia Child", enjoying many wonderful meals. In addition to her husband, Jerry, she is survived by three daughters, Sharon Coro and her husband, James Sprague of Tolland, Donna Coro of South Windsor, Victoria Coro of Manchester, three grandchildren, Taylor Ouimette and her husband, Daniel, Lyndsey Sprague, Laura Gaumont, a great-granddaughter, Kloe Willow Ouimette and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by her brother Ruegge Griffin of Las Vegas. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Grous. Funeral services will Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at 11 am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 41 Park Street Manchester. Burial will be in East Cemetery Manchester.
