Giuseppe F Pellegrino

Giuseppe F. Pellegrino, 83 of Manchester, beloved husband of Sebastiana (Amodio) Pellegrino passed away at home Sunday, September 21, 2014 surrounded by his family and their infinite love by his side . Giuseppe was born in Pozzallo, Sicily, on March 10, 1931, son of the late Carmelo and Elena (Milone) Pellegrino. He learned English by listening to the BBC and resided in Hartford's South end before moving to Manchester 45 years ago. He worked at Travelers Insurance for more than 30 years, retiring as a Senior Analyst and was a pioneer in some of the first corporate applications for computers systems in the country. He was a parishioner of St. James Church, and loved making anything grow in his garden. In addition to his loving wife, Sebastiana he is survived by his son, Carmelo Pellegrino and his wife, Holly of Vernon, his daughter, Elena Sherwood of Manchester, three grandchildren, Jennifer, Deanna and Joseph, and his sister, Sandra Rizza of Palazzolo, Sicily. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at 9 am at Watkins Funeral Home 142 East Center St. Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, 360 Broad St. Manchester. Family and friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5-8 pm at Watkins Funeral Home.
