Gertrude (Maxwell) Wright, 89, of Coventry, formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Walter K. "Kenny" Wright Sr. whom was her childhood sweetheart since the second grade and whom she married in 1947, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Gertrude was born March 13, 1926 in Gilbertville, MA daughter of the late David and Margaret (Leatham) Maxwell. She was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of MHS, Class of 1944. Prior to her retirement Gertrude was employed as a bookkeeper at Manchester Community College for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Betty & Robert Burnett, of Coventry, her four loving grandchildren and their spouses Kelly & Joseph Nericcio, Megan & Joshua Milotte, James & Jeannie Wright and Mikell & Amy Wright, thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Ellsworth, of Coventry, who was very special to her. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son Walter K. "Kenny" Wright Jr., her sister Eileen Griswold and her four brothers Bill, John, Alan, and Robert Maxwell. Gertrude truly loved her family and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours.
