Gertrude T. Pinette

Gertrude T. (Devin) Pinette, 89, of Vernon and formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Richard R. "Mike" Pinette, died peacefully, Saturday August 2, 2014 at Fox Hill Nursing Center in Rockville with her family at her side. She was born September 26, 1924 in Brunswick, ME., daughter of the late Emmanuel & Anita (Levesque) Devin and had lived in Manchester for many years before moving to Vernon in 1995. Gertrude had worked as a Department Manager at the former D & L Department Store in Manchester for more than 25 years. She attended both St. James Church in Manchester and St. Bernard's Church in Rockville. Mrs. Pinette was the loving mother of four children, David Pinette Sr. and his wife Roberta of Middletown, Louise Van Camp and her husband Earl of Bozrah, Michael Pinette and his wife Ellen of Tolland and Marc Pinette of Boston. Other survivors include her sisters, Constance Letarte of Vernon and Gesil Tucker of Nevada, her grandchildren, David Pinette Jr. and his wife Ilyse of New Jersey, Christopher Pinette of Middletown, Amy Pinette of Florida, Eric Van Camp of Bozrah, Kevin Van Camp and his wife Dawn also of Bozrah, Todd Van Camp of Griswold, Samantha Mead and her husband Colin of Oregon, Katie Pinette of Tolland, two great grandchildren Jordan and Shelby Pinette of New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Russell Devin and two sisters Jacqueline Savarese and Madelaine Hyman. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester.
