George Fitzpatrick, 81, of South Windsor passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024. Born on February 24, 1943, in Hartford, CT to the late Helen Kaneski and Francis Fitzpatrick. Known for his generous, kind, knowledgeable, funny, loving, loyal, and caring nature, George's presence enriched the lives of those around him. He was always available to lend a hand or share his knowledge regarding any difficulty you were facing.
Throughout his career, George worked in retail and as a security guard, roles in which he was highly respected for his dedication and integrity. His personal interests were diverse and deeply rooted in his love for his family and community. An avid gardener and woodworker, George enjoyed spending time with his family, learning new things, and solving word searches, which kept his mind sharp and his spirit engaged.
George leaves behind a loving family: daughters Tracy and her husband John Robitaille, Amy and partner Scott, Kelly and her husband Derwin; grandchildren Madison, Adam, and Troy Rittlinger; Jacob and Dylan Goodhue; and Edward Robitaille. He is also survived by his brother-in-law David Pattishall and his wife Pam, along with many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his loving wife Sandra; his sister Rose Mary Sapita; and his brother James Fitzpatrick.
George's legacy of love, laughter, and learning will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Please join us in remembering and celebrating George on August 14th from 5-7pm, at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT. A Mass is to follow on August 15th, at 10 am, at St. Bridget Church located at 80 Main Street, Manchester. George will be laid to rest next to his soulmate on what would be their 54th anniversary in St. Bridget Cemetery directly after mass.
