Frank F. Mariano, 73, of Manchester beloved husband of Joy (Joubert) Mariano, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Frank was born July 26, 1940 in New York, NY, to the late Frank Mariano and Anna (D'Amore) Mariano. Though born and raised in the city, he took great pleasure in living in Connecticut (God's country) in the home that he designed. He graduated from NYU earning a Mechanical Engineering Degree, and also from UConn graduate school, with a Masters Degree in Engineering and from RPI with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He served his country with the U.S. Army. Frank retired in 2000 as a Business Manager for IAE (International Aero Engines) after 35 years UTC. Frank loved cars, motorcycles and planes, he felt at home in the air and in 1976 received his commercial pilot's license. After years of searching for the right car, with the help of his friend Rob, he found and restored a 1966 Morgan 4. His goal was to win Best in Show at his club's 2003 Concours which he accomplished. He was a caring and loyal friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife Joy, he is survived by a daughter, Christina Siry and her husband, Larry, grandchildren, Dylan, Liam, Isabella and Sophia, a brother, Joseph Mariano and his wife, Linda, a sister, Mary Ann Bradley and her husband, David, he also leaves a brother-in-law, Lou Joubert and his wife, Jane, a very special sister-in-law, Jan Kremidas and much loved nieces and nephews, Jill and Al Tiedt, Lori and Dino Kallenekos, Dean and Donna Kremidas and Steve and Tara Kremidas. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11 am at St. James Church 896 Main Street Manchester. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours, Friday July 25, from 4-7 pm at Watkins Funeral Home 142 East Center Street Manchester.
