Florence K. Vancour

Florence Kane Vancour, 96, of Vernon, formerly of Bolton, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 3, 2019. Florence was born on October 30, 1922 in Portadown, Ireland, the daughter of the late Edith (Richardson) and Thomas Kane. Florence and her late husband of sixty-nine years, Wesley Edward Vancour, were both 1941 graduates of Manchester High School. In her younger years, Florence was a homemaker, caring for her family, and worked in the office of her husbands construction company. In her later years, she was employed as a clerk at the Fairway Department Store on Main Street in Manchester. Aside from her love of baking for her family, Florence enjoyed duckpin bowling and golfing in various womens and couples leagues. She also enjoyed arts and crafts at the Bolton Senior Center and was an avid Wii bowler. As a loving mother and grandmother, Florence is survived by her daughters, Donna Smith and her husband Karl of Vernon, Michele Dayton and her husband James of Massachusetts, her son, Wesley Victor Vancour and his wife Cindy of Manchester, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Jeffrey, of Florida and grandson, Daryl Jeffrey, of Bolton.
