Faith (McFall) Strait, 84 of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, loving wife for sixty five years of William C. Strait, died Saturday February 11, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born in Rockville, CT on January 6, 1933, daughter of Tennyson B. and Nora L. (Gass) McFall and was raised in Manchester. After she and Bill raised three children Faith was employed for twelve years at First National Supermarkets and retired in 1992. She and her husband moved to North Carolina in 2008 and returned to Vernon in 2014. She enjoyed reading and doing her puzzles.
Faith loved to travel, she was an adventurer. She traveled three months with her husband across the USA seeing the back roads of America. She has been to Alaska exploring the tundra with wild life ETC, ventured up the Alaskan river and saw what life was really like in the wilds. Faith and Bill flew to Greece and visited Lesbos where her daughter and son-in-law owned a beautiful home on the Aegean Sea.
With her husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son, Nancy Paitaris and her husband Tony of Osteen, FL, Linda Blatter of Vernon, and William C. Strait Jr. and his wife Susan of Bloomfield; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her brother, Ernest McFall of Davenport, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Faith was predeceased by a sister and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10:30 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
