Faith Louise McClelland McGugan, 89, of Manchester, belovedwife for 67 years of Raymond A. McGugan, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on August 1, 2017 with her sons at her side.
Faith was born April 15, 1928, the third child of five to Phoebe (Irons) McClelland and William F. McClelland. She was born and lived her entire life in Manchester.
Faith attended Manchester Green School K-8th grade which later became the Manchester Senior Center and she was a member of the Center and served on the first Advisory Committee. Faith was a 1946 graduate of Manchester High School and 1949 proud graduate of Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She worked many years as a registered nurse, including being director of nurses and supervisor at the Meadows Convalescent Home (Bidwell ST). Memberships include Hartford Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Assoc., life member of the Manchester Historical Society, South United Methodist Church for over 60 years where she served on several committees, and United Methodist Women Reynolds Circle. Faith enjoyed travelling especially family vacations at Hampton Beach and cruises. Faith enjoyed many hand crafts especially quilting and the church fair and friends were recipients of her hand work. She enjoyed hosting family get-togethers at her home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond A. McGugan Jr. and Margaret of Richmond, VA and a son William J. (Bill) McGugan, and her "one and only" grandson, William F. McGugan. She is also survived by her sisters Priscella Lancaster of East Hartford and Marilyn Moonan of Bolton, and sister-in-laws, Kay McClelland, brother-in-law Walter Vogel, as well as many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son James William and daughter Kim Anne, and brother John McClelland and sister Barbara McClelland.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5th, at the South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main Street, Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery, in Manchester. A reception will follow at the church. There are no calling hours. The Holmes Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
